The next time he calls demand full, verifiable written proof of his claim be mailed to you. Not e-mail or fax. If he refuses he has proven himself to be a fraud or a 3rd party debt collector using old and illegal tactics to intimidate you into paying on a bogus or invalid debt. Tell this collector that you are nobodys fool and that he will adhere to federal law or he'll be wasting his time. Record his calls and VMs and tell him you are doing so. Alert him to the fact that you know what a Consumer Attorney is and that you're fully aware that they can be retained on a contingency basis. Which means no money up front from you.
Be safe. Be aware.
