He is still at it, said his name was Ricky. Just received a call with exactly the same issue and exactly the same claim purporting to represent Microsoft Support Services. I dumped his call twice and he even called back a third time. I did advise him that since I would be shut down within 30 minutes and would never again be able to access the internet that he call me back in 60 minutes and we could continue the discussion - surprise, surprise no call back and no internet lifetime block.

Received a scam phone call on April 18/12, from a woman claiming to be from Microsoft Support Services regarding a virus report, and this was the callback number provided.

Just recieved a call from a man named Mike with a heavy indian accent claiming to be with microsoft support services. Told me my computer had downloaded heavily encrypted files that would wipe out my hard drive and was unstopable with antivirus. caller ID says Cyberastro12  which is an astrology website.

Kept them on the phone for awhile, "following" their instructions. It's pretty funny, they have you look at event viewer and tell you the results are all because of corrupted files that only they can remove. then they have you look at system INF files, another indicator of corruption that they need to repair. Finally I was directed to their website www.ammyy.com. I told her my computer blue-screened and said it was shutting down. She said to wait a second (apparently it's not in their script book to blue screen so she had to find out what to say), and when she put me on hold, I disconnected the call.

Initial claim was that it was Microsoft Support Services.

Damn... my BF said I should let them access my computer against what I felt in my gut was not the thing to do ... so did it.  Now they call and want me to increase my coverage, when the number  1 appears on my caller ID,  I don't pick up nor do they leave a message.  What a mistake.

I just had a 'Brian O'Connor' call me saying I had error and viruses on my computer, I asked for his number as the connection was terrible. Phone # 1-347-468-9607 calling from Microsoft Word.
The interesting fact about this call is that it came in 2 hours after I had spoken with a lady from Dell about a Word program issue and she had the same accent as 'Brian O'Connor' did!!!
Needless to say, I believed this to be a scam.
