Have gotten several calls on my cell phone from 1-347-408-1561.  When I informed them several times to stop calling, they obviously don't get it.  Today I got yet another call and this time led them on only to find that they are claiming to be a government disbursing office and that I have been selected to receive $9000.00 dollars in the form of a grant from the federal gov't.  I asked them again to stop calling my number, to which some non-english speaking fool told me that I was "a piece of [***] and he didn't want to talk to me again".  He hung up and would not answer when I called back.  Somehow they have a ton of information about me, but I would warn anyone receiving such calls to beware.

I am in the exact same situation as you where I have received numerous phone calls from the (347)408-1561 number, and they give me the exact same bull; that they are a government disbursing office and that I have been selected to receive nine thousand dollars... and just like you, every time that they call I tell them I no longer want to receive phone calls from them, yet they continue to call and have become quite the nuisance... so here we are.  Also it really concerns me that they have so much information about me and I would really like to know what else they know about me and how or where they are attaining this information from... So basically I am here to ask you for a favor, to inform me if you learn anymore about this scam or how we can prevent this occurrence so we can help others. Just so you know I have done a little bit of research and I found out it is a landline coming from New York, New York  and that the service is through Level Three Communications... I will soon be contacting the provider and if things continue to persist I am contemplating calling the authorities.
