I am a police officer in Mississippi, and I have worked a complaint involving this phone number, 347-377-7717. The information I received from the complainant was that a man with a middle eastern accent. The complainant reported that a man called her on her cell number requesting money that was owed or she could be arrested. The complainant being gullable at the time believed the subject and eventually transferred 100.00 via walmart "green dot" card. The subject on the phone(with a middle eastern accent) advised the complainant that he can only receive payment via wal-mart green dot cards and that no other form of payment could be used. I advised her do not send any money and to not give out any personal information. If it was a legit company, they will send legal notifications via legal or certified mail. I personally called this number using the department's phone asking to speak with the same person as the complainant spoke to earlier. A man answered the phone with the same accent stating he was "James Campbell" with the New York Police Dept. When the subject was asked about the address there at the P.D. he gave a bogus address of 47 Ridge Plaza, NY which obviously doesn't exist. The man attempted to gain personal info regarding the complaint with them and asking who was the complainant and what number did they call from. I say them because there more than one person present at the time. I could hear other voices in the background. When asked to speak with a "supervisor", he basically put his hand over the phone and give the phone to someone else. He advised his name was "Mike Stone" of the New York Police Dept. also speaking with the same middle eastern accent. I recognized the accent because I served a tour in Afghanistan with the Army. To make a long story a little shorter, Assistant District Attorney was contacted as well as the Consumer Protection Division. Given that the suspect of this case could be using a pre-paid cell phone there is very minimal chance if any to trace the call to get a precise location. I was told by our DA's office that the complainant will just have to hang up when called again by the suspect. I hope this info was usefull.
