I have been contacted by so many of these numbers lately it's easy to lose track of them all.  This is another scam where the individual's usually know your SS#, address, license #, and bank account information.  They will keep calling and will not listen to any reason.  I just firmly told the guy to stop calling the numbers he has for me on file and if he needs to send me something, he can do so by mail.  They must've breached security of some database because this is happening to so many people.  This number must be fresh because nobody has reported it yet.  So far, all the numbers have been from NY.  I talked to a woman at the complaint center of the FTC and she told me they are probably either using a throw away cell phone or a relay station in NY.  They all have Indian accents and sometimes the phone cuts out.  You can always hear papers rustling and other people talking in the background.  When they say they know your SS#, they may really know the entire thing.  Just don't confirm anything and report them to your local police department, www.fbi.gov, www.ftc.gov.  A lot of people mention they try to call the number back and it won't go through.  I'm guessing once the number gets too much attention, they drop it and go to another so they won't get caught.  Some people need to get jobs and a life.

We got the same thing!  Threatened to have my daughter arrested because she's taken out a payday loan a year ago that she didn't do. Then when I called back, the first time I didn't get through.  The second time, I got hold of a man named Max.  The Senior attorney's "name" was Justin Floyyd.  But as you stated, they ALL had very very strong indian accents.  

Further-- all my family members are getting these calls and getting threatened that they will be arrested.  I have finally tied it back to a loan application I did online this summer for quick loan type of thing.  

They would NOT NOT give any info to me-- about who the cash advance company supposedly was, no phone number, no date of service, no phone number, etc.  
They gave us three options-- to pay them, or go too court.  (Yeah-- I know that's only two)
I asked for addresses for the court house where we were supposed to meet their officers.  

The bill went from a $300 payday loan at 3:30 pst today-- to $9,991 at 4:30.  

We have relatives in the Sheriff's office--- so we went there immediately today.  They assured us we don't have anything to worry about.

SO-- as I am on the phone with them the second time, the name of the loan guarantor is now MY name-- and I owe close to $10,000 (according to these folks who WON'T give any info-- but want all of yours!)  

They were antagonistic, and rude, and kept threatening us.    I fear for the elderly, naive, etc who don't ask questions.  PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYTHING!
