I just received the same call the name i was given was mark thompson from global pc support 247 and also wanted to help us fix our computer due to it having vicious malware yeah right we ung up on him.

Just talked to Microsoft.  347-352-0133 is a legitimate number but the people on the other end of the line are not.  Microsoft does not call to tell you that malware has been detected on your computer.  Looks like no commission for "Ricky" and I did not give him a chance to compromise the security of my computer.

I got the same call today. Ricky stated he was from Microsoft and my computer was downloading something that might be destructive. He gave me a number to enter into the computer. I questioned the validity of the call and he gave me the 347 Number. I wish Microsoft or Cox or the FCC would do something about these [***].

Just got the call - my guy's name was Ricky also... he told me all this stuff to do, opening up my operating system & typing in things & then maybe he wanted info from my computer - I wrote down some of the things he said, pretending to go into my computer.... BS!! So I finally asked him what he REALLY wanted inside my computer, asked if he wanted my personal info or if he was trying to get me to download spyware... or what. He tried to tell me it was legit & he was trying to HELP me, so I asked him who I was, what is my name. He said DENNY something or other (I'm a girl) & eventually hung up on me. I called the number he gave me (as listed above) & asked them a bunch of questions, asking to if someone who speaks better English was available - after 3 or 4 reps, they finally told me that if I don't believe they want to help me, then that's my prerogative & to have a nice day - also that it was a joy to talk to me.

HOW DO WE REPORT THESE PEOPLE TO MICROSOFT??

I just got the call too - I was suspicious and started asking questions - he hung up. he wouldn't talk to me when I tried to call back. I hope I didn't go too far. I didn't give any info but did go into the event log to view what files had errors. I can't believe this!!! And it was "Ricky"
