Received a phone call ID Private Caller with an automated message saying the IRS is filling a lawsuit against us and to contact 347-284-6504.  When I called this number, the man on the other end just kept saying "Hello".

This stupid robo-call didn't sound any more like the IRS than my chihuahua.  Anyone know the purpose or how to stop this?  Are they trying to get a credit card or something?

Note: 347 284-6504 is attempting  a well documented scam
Recently profiled on national news, the caller leaves a message claiming to be the IRS giving final notice of a  lawsuit. DO NOT RETURN THE CALL.  This is a scam covered by news editor Bob Allen.

REMEMBER: Anyone can claim to be anybody over the phone... Never, ever give out personal information about yourself/others over the phone. Never, ever send money in response to an unverified caller, not to surveys, charities, church,  family/friends, bill collectors or the IRS!

Same garbage as everyone else.  Call them back and when you get someone, blow a whistle in phone.

Just received a call from 347-284-6504 threatening legal action from the IRS.  We are up to date with IRS - this is a scam.
