called landline twice in a few minutes. I don't know anyone in Houston, TX and I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize

This is a spoofed number. I waited until they answered and it is a security selling service. Next time I will get the name of the company and report them.

Yes, scam call. Same thing, single ring, no message.
They obviously want you to call them back, likely with surcharges.

rec'd call from 346-561-0774. they left no message. information states the possible owner of phone number 346-561-0774 is: UNAVAILABLE. call back receives the message "we're sorry, your call cannot be completed as dialed." blocked number.
