Another Robo call from the fake troopers association. The real North Carolina troopers association is located in Raleigh and calls from a Raleigh phone number that starts with 919. This group is obviously a fake - they started giving generic names and fake information along with a lot of backpedaling when I started asking questions as to who they really were. He finally told me it was a professional fundraising organization not located within the state of North Carolina.
This group has an absolutely atrocious record with the state of North Carolina and have been asked to cease and the decist previously.
This is not a legitimate fundraiser for the North Carolina troopers association and the only one who benefits from donations are the professional telemarketers. As of the last report given to the state of North Carolina by this so-called charity, they were giving less than 10% of money collected to any actual charity - the other 90% was going into the pockets of the telemarketing firm.
Know that when you were being called by this fake charity telemarketing company, your dollars are not helping anyone in law-enforcement in the state of North Carolina.
Be certain to report all calls by this illegal telemarketing outfit to both the donotcall.gov website and the North Carolina State Attorney General's office.
The number they were calling from is a throwaway Internet telephone Number, and wind callback is a nonworking disconnected number. An absolute sure fire sign you're dealing with a scammer!
