When 336-455-9906 rings in, a computerized operator comes on and says we have a "COLLECT CALL" from "Eddie Crass" at "Correctional Facility". This Eddie Crass has been calling our number for over 4 months. Infrequently but it does happen monthly. Our investigation found this as a "computerized" call from an automated dialer and the intent is to do 2 things. 1.) Once you accept the call you are charged $$dollars$$ for the connection and $$dollars$$ for each minute. Enough people accepting this call well pays for itself and the company derives profit. 2.) You are automatically staged as a live person with a valid phone number for them to resell. [Any time we can help, don't hesitate to ask.]

This is a business. We receive at least 3 calls a day from this number, usually at night. It is usually an operator from a federal prison calling for "John Brown". We know no one in a federal prison, nor do we accept collect calls.

We have been receiving calls 3 or 4 times a day and no one is ever there.  There is an operator that comes on to say this is a collect call will you accept the charges.  Thanks for the other comments.  I believe it is someone from jail.
