I answered and after saying two hellos they hung up. Obviously a scam call.

This number as well as some others call me multiple times a day trying to sell me insurance. When I press 1 to talk to someone and tell them to remove me from the list they just hang up on me and then call again the next day.  Is there any way I can stop them from calling?  She said she was calling from American Insurance.

No there is no way to stop them from calling. But if it is your home phone you can buy a call blocker and put their numbers in as blocked numbers so your phone never rings when they call. If it is a cell phone, many have a block list you can add their numbers to (Samsung phones often have it built in). Many cell phones do not have a block list built in, but you can usually install a number blocking app if it is a smart phone; just search the appropriate app store for your phone for "call blocker" and there are many choices to try. Simpler cell phones (like flip phones) have fewer options to handle these annoyances.

I'm tired of scammers. Nuisance calls eith no message. One's trying to sell me insurance (covered), anorher's trying to collect a student loan (never had one).
