Received a call from this number as well, asking for my husband. Our names are both in the phone book, so assuming they are targeting Spanish surnames. Anyway, he kept speaking Spanish, and I would answer only in English. Finally he asked me to hold on, as if to get someone in English, but line was disconnected.

Be very careful with this person, he is very convincing. He also contacted my mother unfortunaly my mother did believed him and did wire money to some one in Mexico. We reported this incident to the police.

I got the same call asking for me early around 7:30am some guy in spanish and was saying he was my cousin... but wouldn't give a name and was like hi cousin do you remember me and I would ask who he was and he was like guess guess who it is and I wouldnt say a name and he hanged up but his called couple times before but I had never answered

I just got a call from this number -- from a guy claiming to be my husband's nephew.  We didn't recognize the voice, the number, and he really didn't seem to know anything about us.  He kept asking me to guess which of the nephews it was -- and will call back.

If you read the above posts you will see his eventual goal is to get you to wire him money with some sob story.  You were correct not to try and guess his name unless you want to use a made up name to catch him in the scam if he calls back.
