This guy called my sister and told her he was a nephew. She asked if he was David and he said yes. She asked him a few questions about the rest of the family and he said they were all fine. He was just going along with what she said or asked. He said he had been sent to a hospital in Dallas and he had a blowout and hit a car. He said the other guy told him he would call the police if he didn't give him $500. "David" was saying that he had two checks that totaled $3000.00 and could give the money back as soon as he cashed them. Sounded very fishy so we said we would call him back but we didn't. He called back twice but we didn't answer.

Typical relative scam.  They are trying to get a name out of you so they can impersonate that person and try to get you to give them money because they are stuck in Mexico or Canada.  By Western Union or Green Dot money pak.

first they called my mom at night saying tia I will be visiting you tomorrow. then the next mornig   they called and saying he was my cousin and that he just had a car accident, he needs 900 dollars or he will be put in jail. I contacted my real cousin he said he was fine.
