Scam!!! Got the same call at my house from a cousin from Puerto Rico but he had a different accent. He was traveling from DC to FL for 3 weeks and said that he would arrive at my house around 11:00am and with a load of presents for the whole family, I said OK but i wont be home at that time because I'm going fishing with my dad. He said to wait for him because he wants to relax and spend time with us, but don't tell my uncle I'm coming, its a surprise. Well you have to go to my dads house instead of mine and he said OK. I gave him my cell # so he could call me in the morning. Next day he calls me around 10:30am and bingo that's when i saw it was a 100% scam. I saw the # in the caller ID. I immediately search the number in Google and got me to this page. Well this is where the fun starts. When he called he said that he was half way but he was stopping at a gas station because his car was smoking. I said hurry up because we are waiting for you. I told my dad lets go fishing. Half our later he calls back saying he was in an accident and the other guy (Victor) wanted to talk to me. Victor started saying that they are fine from the accident but there's a little problem, my cousin's insurance expired. Victor being so nice said that what he would do is to report the accident to the ins agency and told them it was a hit and run, but my cousin has to come up with his deductible which is $1732.00. My cousin gave him $500 but he's short, he said he would pay me back when he gets to Orlando and I said OK. Well Victor is not stupid because he wants to verify that my cousin is telling the truth so he started asking me my parents name and his parents name and I just started making up names and place where they live and he was verifying with my cousin and agreed to all the BS I just said. So now they wanted me to go to Western Union to deposit $1232.00 and directed to a Western Union in Jalisco, Mexico (Oh yea Vicente had a Flight to catch at 4:00pm to Mexico) I told Vicente he was in luck because there was a W. U. just minutes away from my dad's house and that the money would be there in 10:00 minutes or so (another lie from my part, at this time i was already fishing) so they call me 1/2 hour later wondering if I deposit the money and they ask me for the confirmation #, that's when I lost it, since i didn't have a number to give them and didn't know how many number or letters you get from W.U. I just started laughing, and Vicente is wondering whats going on this is not funny i need that money or I wont let your cousin leave. I said dude you got scam, I don't know any of those peoples name I just gave you and my cousin you can just keep him and his presents and shove them up your &$%*#. He hung up. Didn't even said bye.
