I picked up this "Ohio Call" since I have friends whose caller id says this.

It was a woman wanting to help me pay medical bills. I said I don't have any medical bills and she started getting aggressive and insisting she could help me.
She was talking over me, and finally I said, YOU called me, I don't need your help.

She was still yelling when I hung up.

I suspect she was trying to get information to use for her scam.

By the way, the Do Not Call registry is a JOKE. I think it is so out of control nothing can stop them. There are too many ways around it for people who want your money.  Usually, I ignore out of area, or toll free call, or some state that I'm not familiar with.

Don't ever give your number to LowerMyBills because they sell it out to everybody and you will get no peace.

Got 2 calls today (Wednesday 2012-06-27), I did not answer and let them ring (4 rings each).  One familiar number and one new to my rotation of annoyance:

330-790-1600 @ 03:35pm - No Caller ID Name (This one is new)
732-807-5611 @ 05:52pm - HERTAG SVC

I suspect these are from the same scam organization that has been calling me constantly from a variety of numbers for over three months now, more detail and numbers in my posts here:

When I answered, a recording said: GOODBYE. I tried calling this number; a recording came on saying person was not available and that their mailbox was full and to try calling again.

Got a call today from 330-790-1600

I was on the other line and didn't pick it up.  When I called them back, I got the same response as SCAM? above:  The person is not available,please leave a message.  However, there was no "beep" sound to leave a message.

Time to change my phone number.  Again.  The Do Not Call List is worthless -- these people just morph themselves.  If we had public hangings for violations of this law, THAT might work!
