scam on craigs list

I just got a text from this CA number saying his name is Terry and he's deaf so he couldn't call me.
He wanted to mail me a cashiers check for item I was selling on Craigslist and asked for my name and address.  He said he was moving from LA (to my state) so after I notified him that the cashiers check had cleared, he would just have his movers pick up the item from me.

You're correct, scam and investigation underway.

Same thing here in New Jersey. Responded to an ad for a bicycle Im selling. Said he was deaf. I smelled a rat and told him I only deal in person and in cash. No response back from this dirt bag.

Same thing with the deaf and name is terry, wanted to buy a four wheeler from me with out looking at it first. Automatically knew this [***] was up to something. Told him to screw it and never got a reply back.
