Ton of these guys. When the housing boom collapsed a lot of contractors found themselves with a lot of time on their hands, and they spend their days with auto-dialers trying to either sell solar or asking for home improvement jobs.
The joke is that in Southern California , Southern California Edison is lobbying for a special fee to tack onto all homeowner who have a solar system in order to cover the costs of providing a connection to the grid, but not being able to sell as much overpriced electricity. In addition, for people with solar who can sell back excess electricity in sunny months, Edison is asking to be able to only pay the wholesale cost to homeowners instead of home retail cost.
