Got the Nikki Johnson call too. Guy with a thick Indian accent, sounded like he was calling from a busy warehouse and not an office setting. He asked for my name and number. I provided only the number, and said "well you should have my name since you called me." He threatens, "I am trying to help you, but if you aren't willing to give me this information I can send the local authorities to your house to arrest you." So I counter: "I've got nothing to be arrested for. But tell me, where would you send these officers? What's my address?" And he stammered and hung up. I then looked up the phone number on Google, and found out this is a huge SCAM. WARNING: (323) 647-5768 "Nicky Johnson" IRS Agent SCAM. ‪#‎nickyjohnson‬ ‪#‎irsphonescam‬

I got this one today too. I've seen the number on my caller ID before, but this was the first time they left a message. It's a SCAM! It has been going on all over the country. The calls are placed by a roto-calling program.

Just ignore all calls from phone numbers you do not recognize!
If they are legitimate callers, they will leave a voice message and it won't be a cut-off one like this one was. Most scammers don't bother to leave messages so I had to laugh at this one. It was so obviously a robotic voice.

Just delete the number from your caller ID and any message the scammer's automated system leaves for you.

Do not bother to contact the IRS office near you. They won't help you.

The IRS does NOT call people on the phone, if there is a problem with your tax return. They send you a letter by snail mail, if there is a problem with your return or you owe them money. I can verify that personally. I have been audited a couple times over the last 35 years and I was ALWAYS notified by letters from my state revenue office and/or the IRS of any discrepancies involving my tax returns. I was never called on the phone.

Yep, it's the annoying IRS phone scam! I never fall for these phone scammers and you don't have to either. Just ignore all calls from numbers you don't know. If they leave a message, and you do know them, or they are potential clients, call them back. Otherwise, DO NOT call them back.

Scammers know how ignorant and fearful so many people are. They might fool you. DO NOT let them. If you call back numbers you don't recognize, then they will likely be rude and try to scare you into believing anything they say. Also, they will add your number to more calling lists for other scammers to call and try and fleece you too. Be smarter than them.

CID said Unknown Name and 1-323-647-5768.
Voice message from (FAKE) Agent - Nicki Johnson - was partially cut off. Just delete it and the CID from the phone. Using a call blocker is great if you want to or can, but know that scammers just change the numbers they call from and continue calling anyway.
