This number called our business today at 1454 hours. Caller ID said "Los Angeles CA". As we don't do business in CA, I knew there was a 95% chance it was a scam artist or spam call so I picked up the phone but said nothing. There was a lot of background noise of people talking so obviously it was a cold-call boiler-room set-up. The man asked for the boss by first name (because they're buddies, don't you know). I told him [the boss] works on the road, he doesn't work in the office and asked if I could help him. He declined. More the fool him. I screen all phone calls and I'm one of our tiny company's only two corporate officers, so his male chauvinism in assuming I was just a common secretary who has no power or say-so caused him to miss his only opportunity to make a positive impression on one of the primary decision-makers.
