Don't respond to anything that would jeopardize your Craig's List account being banned. This is a typical scam. I know, when someone says they will send you a check, it's usually stolen. Be weary of these and other formats. I'm getting 4-5 responses on my ad per day, asking for phone numbers and it saying:
"I'm mesmerized about you and your ad. I'd like to speak more and was wondering if you could call/text me with your address? Please get my cell phone # on my confidential page, you have to signup first but no stress there's no charge. This way I am preserving my personal information, I have cash right next to me. I just need to ask you something over the phone and validate this is not a scam. Thank you!

DON'T REPLY TO SOMETHING LIKE THIS. It's definitely a scammer trying to get personal information for theft.
Here's a few more like the one above:
"I was instead wondering if you would like to become friends. I just transferred to a new job here and feeling lonesome, would love to hook up for some fun time. I am avilable anytime after 12 pm. I'm not a weirdo or a scammer so do not worry! If you are interested you can see more of me on my profile where I have all of my rated r pix and most importantly my cell # is there too. Just log in and text me 'cause I love texting! Let's do this asap, I will be waiting!

Too many more like these above and I will be sending them off to Craig's List and to the FBI's Internet Crime Division. It's no wonder why I chose this career path, to track down scammers like these and knock them out.
