Son's girlfriend keeps getting annoying calls from this number

I got the call today infact. talking about it was a gentleman by the name of office eric smith, and that i was a prime suspect. Also that my friends gave me up..

Sadly, i have never left this state. (tx) and dont know anyone who lives in Cali. So this was really odd. On top of that, this same number called my roommate claiming to be a bill collector.

I didnt freak out or anything, was shocked to this call at 8:00 am.
