I have received several phone calls from this agency for A FAMILY MEMBER NOT FOR ME!!! I wanted to make that clear. I have gotten to the point where I have blocked at least 5 phone numbers all from different states. My call block service keeps a log of calls and when they call, they do so 3-5 times in a row back to back. All the calls come through within one minute. They leave messages on my vm (which my block service allows) stating they are looking for this family member in regards to collecting a debt for which that person is being sued.
So okay this person doesn't have a good history paying bills, however that is neither here nor there. I always pay my bills on time. The point is this company is in violation of the law firstly by telling me that they are calling about a bill for someone else and that the person is being sued.  Secondly by not saying it's an urgent matter for that person and if I am not the correct person hang up and do not listen to the recording. They must give a person that opportunity to hang up before stating why they are calling. I unfortunately get other debt calls for this person as they must have used my name as a reference. Other legitimate collectors leave that recording first allowing me the chance to hang up.  Thirdly, the few times I did speak to them before blocking them I requested their mailing address so I could write them asking that they not call me again and they hung up without giving it to me. I have verbally asked them not to call me as I am not the debtor but they still call. Fourth, my family member told me she asked them to send her info confirming they own the debt and info on the debt itself as to what company it is, the date of original delinquency and the amount owed, which legally they must supply and they hung up on her. She isn't saying she doesn't owe, she just wanted verification as to what debt it is. Her husband passed away unexpectedly a few years back with only $10,000 in life insurance which was used for the funeral. They have 4 children together and she was a house wife. Her life fell apart when he died and it took her time to rebuild which she has slowly done. She has paid many of the delinquent debts and is now almost done. All she wanted was verification and they refused to give by hanging up. I tried to research the company and have found 4 states that have a business with that name as a debt collector. The numbers that have called me do not match any listed online so this is why red flags go up for me. Why can't I verify this company? To all of you who call people who don't pay their bills "scumbags" walk a mile in their shoes before you judge anyone. No one is perfect and some people have legitimate problems.
Thanks!!!

I tried calling every number I could find on M Haynes and Associates and all ask for a code to get through.

Obviously a scam company.  They should spend as much time on a real job.

My attorney told me not to pay them without a document stating that if i pay them this will settle the debt.
My attorney said i need proof from them that they own the debt, you see I never received paper work reguarding the debt from from them,so we don't know if this is a legitimate collection an settlement,an that this is a violation of the fair debt collection practise act not to receive a document,If I don't get proof in the form of paperwork to confirm this will be over if I pay the settlement, they could sell the debt an this whole collection process could start all over,My attorney said, get a document of proof confirming the settlement an ownership of the debt, then an only then should I pay them, because if I pay them anything at all, this will create a new date of the debt which will extend the statue for many more years to collect.

Do not pay these hacks.  They are the types that threaten things that are unenforceable.  They lie in their collection activities.  If you don't pay, eventually, they will just go out of business.

Called me and has refused to give me all the original documents proving the alleged debt is mine and  it's a debt that I have disputed.  I requested that they no longer call me so now they have started calling my family asking them to send the message that they are going to sue me, which is not legal since they have spoken with me.  So, I contacted them to request the name of the attorney filing again't me so I can respond but no one calls back, just like how they refuse to show all the original paperwork to prove the debt (which is past the statue of limitations in every state) is mine.           Just a heads up, it's illegal for a debt collector to reveal debts to a third party or ask a third party to pass along a message, in this case they did both.  Not to mention the debt is from a case of identity theft and was resolved but they continue to threaten to sue me and use my social security number.  If they contact you or your family tape and document the conversation and contact a good attorney.  I think these idiots could be bankrupted with enough work.
