This number called our business today at 1449 hours.  Caller ID said, "Sanford FL." As we don't do business in Florida, calls that list an alleged city and state are almost always spammers, and because any call I get out of Florida is a spam artist, I didn't answer the phone.  For the heck of it, I blocked my number and called it back.  After a very long pause there was a ring tone then a recorder came on with, "We're sorry, your call cannot..." which means it is indeed a scam artist spoofing a phone number.

Repeated calls from a payday loan place starting at 5am

This number is calling all day... I wasn't answering it but they wouldn't stop!! I answers it and no one there it went back to a dial tone

Now they know yours is a "live" number-do not answer callers you don't know and never call back. Get a call blocker and use it. If you play their game by their rules you'll never win.
