100% of all job offers by email are a scam. Everyone of them. Job interviews are done in person. Face to face. Not by email, text, fax, or web chat. Use the internet to search: Company address? Names? Phone numbers? Do a 'whois' on the web page. Set up last year? Red flag. Private proxy registration? Red flag. Received a check? Take it to your bank, DO NOT deposit it. Have your bank check it to see if it's real. Many times the name, address is good, but the transit number isn't. By depositing it, you give the scammer all your bank information (branch #, account #, signature). Due Diligence. If a search of a phone number has brought you to 800notes - not a good sign.

Got an email and a call from this # after receiving an email for a job interview.  I called the # back from a landline, as I had bad cell signal.  The caller continued with a short telephone job interview and informed me I'd receive an email with additional information for an in person interview if I was selected.  I received that email, with a job offer.  See it all looked funny to begin with, but i had googled the company and all good information was on the internet regarding them.  Called the company as something didn't set right...total scam!  Grateful I didn't give any other personal information to these people!

Sounds exactly like what I am experiencing right now.  How did you find out it was a scam?  I would like to compare notes with you and see if it is the same company name and owner.  I have now been sent quite a list of tasks to perform and a UPS tracking number for funds being sent to me to secure furniture for a new office in my town.  If the job is for real, it is a great match for me and I don't want to lose it...but if it's a scam, I don't want to invest any more time or open myself to a con.  Can we talk?

Yes! What gave it away was his voice. I heard immediately he was a black man from possibly Nigeria, etc., where most of these shenanigans originate from. The more info people read about this the more we can protect. Why don't these people get a normal job. Because they are lazy!
