They leave a long official sounding message that claims something very bad is going to happen to you unless you give them your social security number, a list of your assets, and it's all a very big scam.  The biggest mistake he will make his thinking this is a legitimate claim/attempt to collect the debt because multiple family members are called at the same time trying to reach you. This is what they do to make you think it's legitimate, calling all of the numbers that they find listed on Internet sites that are grouped together, which is very very very easy to find! Very often, there are websites that list phone numbers, new and old ones, and group the family members together, even if they are divorced and haven't seen each other or don't see each other in person. So to add "legitimacy" to this SCAM, they call all the numbers at the same time so it appears to be a legitimate attempt I collecting a debt! You need to report this number as well as 877–630-6498 (The number they tell you to call to give all the information to) to your state attorney general office, as well as the local police, and consumer finance agency. These people are running SCAMS trying to commit identity THEFT and or fishing for all of your personal information and one phone call under the guise of debt collection! Don't give them anything, I don't even answer this phone call! Just reported to all of the authorities, and with enough people have done so, they will go after them.  Who on earth would call a place called asset verification anyway? Who won earth would tell someone all of their assets, bank accounts, credit cards, etc, to a stranger on the telephone? Please don't be that stupid person I will see you next on the eyewitness news who has done so!
