On answer, recorded message says my number was chosen to receive a free night at Marriott hotels.  On dialing 1 to express interest, agent came on line and revealed the value of a Marriott stay would be deducted from a vacation stay package I would need to buy.  The value of the package was $2000 and they said their deal today was if I signed up now that they could discount it to $999.  Gotchas are they only go to Dominican Republic, Cancun, and the Bahamas,  They also throw in a free cruise as bonus.  But you can't book earlier than 45 days (they say you can try sooner than 45 days but they can't assure you get in - presumably you can assuredly get in if you do the >45 days in advance).  They might have thrown the name of their organization once early in the call but I did not catch it and later they did not volunteer it even as I as expressed unease about being able to ever actually book their vacations when I wanted to go and said I did not know who they were.  They said initially you had 18 months to take the vacation you prepay now but later said they could extend that out to 5 years.  In my head, I wondered will they be there even in 45 days after they have my money, let alone out 5 years?  It seemed very sketchy to me (with boiler room celebratory shouting in the background punctuating our conversation) so I said I only wanted the free Marriott day and they could not give it to me so we ended the call.
