SCAM ARTISTS!!!!
I am posting my mother’s story in regards to her experience with this sad excuse for a “private investigator”.
My mother initially hired these people to locate her birth parents (my mother was adopted at birth). They were very pushy and insisted that they were with the show “Troy the Locator”. I myself was very skeptical because they kept insisting that my mother send payment to a paypal account and they would accept payments. They even went so far as to call me on my cell phone (because my mother had informed them of my skepticism) to assure me that they were the “real deal” and where to view a copy of their private investigators license.
My mother went ahead and made a few payments to them (totaling $995.00) and they then provided her with a report of her biological family. This report was a letting my mother know who her biological parents were, siblings, and other relatives. Sounds great right?? Would be even better if the information was ACCURATE!!!
They provided the name of her biological father (which we found out, unfortunately, he is in prison) and this info was correct. However, they provided the name for her biological mother and siblings etc. which was INCORRECT. My mother contacted the supposed biological mother (which the investigator had provided contact info for) only to find out she has passed away 6 months prior. My mother talked to this woman’s husband and children and they all thought for a period of time that their mother/wife NEVER told them that she gave a baby up for adoption when she was 14 and that my mother was their long lost sister. Only to turn around and find out that this was ALL FALSE INFO!!!
The only reason my mother found out that this woman was really not her biological mother was because these investigators offered to send a letter they had my mother write to her biological father, in prison. My mother became suspicious and actually called the prison and was able to arrange a phone call to her biological father. He never received the letter they supposedly sent and she found out her true story.
After speaking with him (her biological father), she found out all of the info the investigator provided in regards to her mother was totally FALSE. My mother then contacted the investigators and they said they would reopen her case (after giving her the run around for almost a month) and they did nothing.
My mother’s biological father even wrote them a letter and it was returned as “BUSINESS CLOSED”.
These people are scam artists and are unethical. DO NOT WORK WITH THEM!!!
