UPDATE: I took the call from them at 8 a.m. this morning and played into their game to get as much info as possible. They are reading from scripts, and if you ask them anything that goes off-script, they transfer you. I spoke to 3 people this morning: Louis Wilson, Heather Lawson and Ben Foster. In looking up Heather Lawson, I see complaints about this scam dating back to 2006!! Why can't we stop this?! This personal information should not be released when people apply for a payday loan.

When I asked for an address, they gave me 42 Broadway 5th Floor NY, NY 10004, and said they are the DCA Law Firm - Department of Corporate Affairs. In actuality, there IS a DCA at this address, but it is the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs.

When "Ben Foster" no longer felt like making up stories to answer my questions (such as "If this was in collections, why haven't I received a written notice within 5 days of initial contact, as per the law under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)?"), he said they would go ahead and process my file and we could deal with it at the courthouse on Monday. I sweetly answered "Oh yes, let's go ahead and do that." He was a bit surprised and then asked for my attorney's info, so I said "Yes, he definitely wants to talk to you" and gave him the info. Then I told him that we were aware this is a scam, that I have already reported him to the FTC and FBI, and that all calls were being recorded. I told him to never ever call here again or he would be the one showing up at the courthouse. I hung up. No callback yet. I am sick to my stomach with what these people are doing to scared, financially-strapped people.

This guy called my office numerous times yesterday. Very billigerant! Claims I had 3 counts of fraud against me too. Said he was sending law enforcement officers to my place of employment. My employer is now aware of the threatening calls, and has been trying to get a hold of this guy (Steven Williams - who has a mid-eastern accent, and who's TV was blasting in the background). Kept trying to confirm my social over the phone...the type of business I am in, we know that these are scam calls. NEVER confirm anything over the phone. I can't figure out what kind of debt collector would be coming after me, since everything is current.

People like this make me sick.

Same here.  This person calls in the mornings about 430am and I don't answer.  He does have a foreign (very bad arrogrant sounding).  I couldn't understand his first name but the last name was definitely Williams.  He said that I was going to be arrested and have black marks and will have to deal with court and pay $5000 etc.  Another call sounding like the same person called from a 530-466-7614 number making threats as well.  Another call soundling like him again said his name was "Daniel" from Cybercrime or something like that came from number 408-692-1047.  None sounded legitimate.  If money is owed to these companies, no one will ever pay them back a dollar if that is how they do their collection.

Hey guy's this has been going on with me for almost a year now. I just laugh it off today is labor day so I kept the 315 number and I have called them.... at least 30 times today already. Seems to me if they can harrass me I can do the same to them. The last man, Stephen threatened to come to my place of employment, funny thing I am disabled and haven't worked in several years now. So folks call harass make them mad the only thing they can do is hang up. So now I am calling again to wish them a happy Monday.

the called me this morning,harrassing me,saying i was charge of 3 counts of fraud,i was trying to get an information from them but they keep interupting me,i could barely undrestand what they talking about,coz of an heavy accent,when i was asking bunch of question they hang up on me,so i call them back over and over finally they answer,i undentified my self as a lawyer and i told them that they are harrsing my clients and that i need a name of their company and they saying they did not call anybody,when i provide them with a name off the person that call me a few minutes ago,they act like they dont know that person,and they hang up,but i kept calling and calling now all im getting is a voicemail saying it cant take no call
