UPDATE: I took the call from them at 8 a.m. this morning and played into their game to get as much info as possible. They are reading from scripts, and if you ask them anything that goes off-script, they transfer you. I spoke to 3 people this morning: Louis Wilson, Heather Lawson and Ben Foster. In looking up Heather Lawson, I see complaints about this scam dating back to 2006!! Why can't we stop this?! This personal information should not be released when people apply for a payday loan.

When I asked for an address, they gave me 42 Broadway 5th Floor NY, NY 10004, and said they are the DCA Law Firm - Department of Corporate Affairs. In actuality, there IS a DCA at this address, but it is the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs.

When "Ben Foster" no longer felt like making up stories to answer my questions (such as "If this was in collections, why haven't I received a written notice within 5 days of initial contact, as per the law under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)?"), he said they would go ahead and process my file and we could deal with it at the courthouse on Monday. I sweetly answered "Oh yes, let's go ahead and do that." He was a bit surprised and then asked for my attorney's info, so I said "Yes, he definitely wants to talk to you" and gave him the info. Then I told him that we were aware this is a scam, that I have already reported him to the FTC and FBI, and that all calls were being recorded. I told him to never ever call here again or he would be the one showing up at the courthouse. I hung up. No callback yet. I am sick to my stomach with what these people are doing to scared, financially-strapped people.

I too received a voice message from someone with a foreign accent stating that I should call back immediately because this was a very time sensitive matter. Someone named Mark called me back later that day stating that I was being sued by CPA Cash Partners for a payday loan. I too didn't have the faintest idea what he was talking about. He then went on to say that I was being charged on 3 counts of fraud; vioation of banking regulations, cash by deception and one other. For a minute I thought this was serious but then I settled down and thought that if this was a legit call I wouldn't hear other voices in the background like you hear in a telemarking call, the person and all other persons who they place on the call wouldn't sound foreign and also the caller said that I was getting illegal money into my bank account and if you look at my account you will not find or before, any large amounts of cash being deposited into my account. Also my caller made it seem like I was answering emails that promised me large sums of money and putting them in my account or not paying back money. I do not read my junk mail except on occasion I will want to see what the latest "scam" is but I do not reply to these! They do not have a leg to stand on! The payday loan company that I took out a loan with was reprimanded by the FTC for illegal activity....I guess now they are trying to "scam" money out of people with another approach! Of course be real! Are you really going to believe someone with a foreign accent and with all those voices in the background????? Talk about stupid people!!!! I am reporting them to the Attorney General in my state.

I received a call today from someone named Alex Walker, claiming he was with the Department of Corporate Affairs speaking on behalf of Cash Partners of America. They had all my information... employment, email, phone numbers. They claim I owe CPA money from a loan they put in my bank account that I never paid back. I hung up, and they called right back asking to speak to my boss. I again asked them not to call me again. They told me I would be arrested tomorrow... LOL.. I laughed and asked for their address, phone number, and to spell out the "law firm" they worked at? He began yelling at me saying I was calling him a lie. 646-845-1937 is the number they are giving me.

This is a scam! They called my job, saying I'm being sued! They have important info on us so dont be fooled give them nothing! Damn shame!!

Same situation here, same scenario, but the Indian guy call himself David Jones. Cash Partners used to be Paradise Loans, and Money Chest, and so on and so forth. I do not understand how a loan of $400 goes to $1500 then to $5000.00
