Texted me for "updated" pictures from my CL ad for a fireplace and updated price.  texted back that price is what ad says and that all my pictures are on CL that I have and that he should call me.  He texted back that he is hearing impaired and and could not open pictures in AD?  Smells like phishing scam...

I texted back and told him to reach out through CL and I woudl send pictures that way....

Why would someone in Syracuse want to buy a $150 gas fireplace in Maryland?

Same thing, asked price which was already posted in the ad.  Wanted to buy a hot water heater in Pennsylvania for house in Utah.

lol, the shiping cost from Pa to UT would probably exceed what it would cost to buy a new water heater locally!  Clearly a scam.  Most of these scammers are using a computer to scan craigslist and other forsale sites and automatically send a text message to the contact number without regards to the illogic of not being a local buyer for the item listed.
