Got a call at my home and the caller ID said it was coming from Hamilton, NY. The caller made several mistakes in his call that clearly made his call look, smell, and sound like a scam. First the phone number was not an 800 number, second he said Mrs. (the last name) and then continued to say "I understand you have some credit card debt" with out even stopping after he said the last name to let me indicate if I was the person he was calling or not. I cut him off by saying the following, "I am not interested, you just broke the law, I am not the person you are trying to contact." Lets see if this bozo tries and calls my number again. I know the idiot was trying to contact my mother, she is always up to date and always on time with all her payments and to call her and try to scam someone with such a good credit rating is the biggest mistake a scam artist can make especially calling someone related to a lawyer and 6 police officers.

Sounded very uneducated, posing as a financial advisor.  

I received two calls from this number today. The first caller was male, the second was female. Both callers immediately started asking me about credit card debt. I told the first caller that our phone number was on the Do Not Call registry, yet I still received a second call several hours later. The second caller, the female, actually mocked me when I repeated that our number was on the Do Not Call registry. Both callers had vaguely Indian accents, with the male having the more noticeable accent.

Three years ago I started getting phone calls for MICHELLE L***.!  That is NOT my first name but it IS my last name!  I kept getting these calls and was able to trace the numbers to collection agencies thanks to the internet and sites like this!  To make a long story short, this CROOK and her husband have been taking out credit cards, running up high balances, skipping out without paying and leaving MY unlisted, unpublished number as THEIRS!!!  I have been through THREE YEARS of NIGHTMARES thanks to her and her husband!!!  The credit card companies have sold their debts to debt collection agencies and THEY have sold my number to SCAMMERS!!!  FIFTEEN YEARS ago at the direction of the local police, I got my UNLISTED, UNPUBLISHED number because after leaving our 27 year marriage, my now ex husband was stalking and terrorizing me for THREE YEARS while he wiped out as many of our financial accounts as possible without my knowledge and had all manner of credit card companies calling HIM at my number!!!  I have PTSD and am disabled and this has been HORRENDOUS for me physically and mentally!  The phone company won't help me (they'll block calls but NOT 800 numbers and the scammers and collection agencies keep changing their numbers and also use 800 numbers half the time!), the police won't help me and the only business that would was Transunion Credit Reporting Agency who said it was a form of identity theft and put my credit report on a 90 DAY watch!  (BTW, the low lifes got my number off the neighborhood roster!  This  housing development was supposed to be 24 expensive homes where "high class" people lived!  You know--doctors, lawyers, NASA scientists, military officers, etc.... You don't need to tell me....  I have learned my lesson!  Never again will MY phone number see the light of day on another "roster!!!")  Although I stopped answering calls I didn't recognize, I am still getting annoying calls and today was a new name and number so I answered.  I thought and HOPED this EVIL couple had stopped taking out credit cards and it was "just" the scammers AND election polls--yes, election polls which is how I figured out who they were and the fact that they lived right around the corner and across the street--but today I got a call from this number--315-228-9807!!!  It was some woman with a foreign accent who started off with, "I hear you have some credit card debt!" and IMMEDIATELY I knew WHY I was getting the call!  Caller ID said AMER SVCS!!!  I asked who she was calling, whether she was calling from a collection agency and she said, "Is this Michelle L***?" and I said I could give her Michelle's number and SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!!  THIS MEANS MY SCUMBAG NEIGHBORS ARE BACK AT IT!!!  I have had my number for 15 years, it was blissfully quiet for 12 of those years and I will have a terrible time if I have to change it because there will be so many places I will have to contact!  I will surely forget some, but I am beginning to think I have NO OTHER CHOICE!   BUT--I am NOT changing it until I talk to a LAWYER!  I want to SUE the HECK out of these JERKS for harassment, invasion of privacy, theft, extreme mental torture, etc. etc. etc.!!!  After THAT I will change my number and THEY can pay for it through their lawyer, hopefully while they are in jail!!!  If that doesn't work (and of course it won't!), I'll try to take them to small claims court!  Then when that doesn't work I guess all that's left is lighting a bag of dog poop on their front porch, setting it on fire, running away and yelling, "FIRE" as I go!  It will be their own dog poop because they don't walk their dogs either!  If anyone has any helpful suggestions I could try (legally!), I would love to hear from you!
