Left no message, when answering machine picked up caller hung up??????????????????????.

We get a call from this number two or three times a week. I finally answered and the caller said he was Scott from Social Security Disability and that we had inquired recently about disability benefits. Before I could say anything we were cut off. I called back thinking it might be legit and they got the wrong number since I didn't apply for this. When I explained that I had not applied for benefits she said she would transfer me to their SS Disability department. The line went silent and then they hung up. All this leads me to suspect scam since they have called from this number numerous times without leaving a message.

I have had nearly the same experience as Rick, but my caller was named "Bill".  Definitely a scam.  I tried to call social security to make sure no one was trying to get benefits under my name, but since the wait time was 40 minutes I hung up.  Also tried on line to contact them, but no luck there either.

Said they were from trip advisor, called 3 times right in a row, told me it was a recorded line, and asked if I could hear her alright. I said NO and hung up! Sad thing they have been doing this for 2 months now, sporadically I will answer and it's always the same thing!!!
