Last week. this company called me, claiming to be the Dept of Labor. They said they were a company informing me that they were trying to collect a debt for a bill over a decade old from a bank. They were going to file charges (theft by deception and malicious intent to resolve) if I didnt make pay arrangements with them.  It sounded legit UNTIL I called the actual company that was handling the debt. I was made aware that it was a scam.  They had my identifying information. They had called my dad and my husband both, who let me know they were trying to get in touch with me.  They called my husband and myself back today and when I told them that I knew they were a scam, they advised me that when the sheriff came knocking at my door, that I couldnt say that they hadnt warned me.  When they called my husband today, they told him there was already a summons issued in my name sitting in their office.

My dad called me and said I missed an appointment and basically there doing the same to me! Did anything happen?
