The caller ID said "US Govt".  The White Pages directory says that the caller is the VA Hospital in St. Louis.

In my immediate family, no relatives, living or dead, have been in the Armed Services.  So maybe it was a business call.

On the other hand, if it was a legitimate business call, why would the caller have hung up in the middle of my phone's voice mail greeting?  So it is possible that the VA's number was spoofed.

They will either call back, or they won't.  If anything significant happens, I will report it to this BB.

I work at the VA in question, they probably hung up because they realized they had the wrong number, if a name is said that isn't on our list we hang up. We only leave messages when we know for sure as we can that it is the right person.
