Just got the call.  I said hello three times before I heard a woman's voice describe an offer for a free alarm system.  In return, I'd have to agree to let them put one of their signs on my front lawn.  I interrupted and asked if this was a pre-recorded message or a live call.  She said it was live, and I told her I am leary of unsolicited phone calls because of all the scams going on.   When I indicated I already have an alarm system, she told me I don't qualify and my phone number would be removed from their list (yeah right!).  What puzzles me is why she didn't identify the company name and why a company based in Detroit (i.e., the 313 area code) would be calling people in New Jersey.

It probably is a scam.

This number called multiple times asking if I would be willing to have a security system installed in my home.

Seems legit (in that "not" sort of way.)

They call saying they are in the area and would like to sell me security in my area.  Watch out folks it's a typical scam. 313-349-4997
