This is a telemarketing scam. A guy with a very strong Indian or Pakistani accent called 5/2 offering to lower my credit card interest rates asking me to "verify" my card information and SSN (as if he has it already on his screen) by repeating it back to him. I kept him engaged and on the phone for over 15 minutes by complaining about banks, their rules, and numerous fees before he got frustrated and put his 'supervisor' on the phone who tried the friendly approach. Every time I hesitated to divulge he sternly reminded me that "this is to reduce your credit card interest rates. Don't you want to save a lot of money?" So I gave him fake SSN last 4, fake zip code, fake card expiration date and was put on hold. After 5 minutes, he returned to say that the information was incorrect and I let the cat out of the bag that I WAS SCAMMING HIM and laughed at him for thinking I was so stupid yet I was able to waste so much of his time and prevent him from scamming OTHER people. I heard a barrage of curses and insults and threats to **** my mother and responded with laughter and ridicule.
They called again TODAY!!! 5/6
