Is this company real dude was very rude on the phone

Received a phone message from a person identifying themselves as a detective following up on a fradulent check and collections pertaining to two counts of felony and added, your social security numbers have been identified.  A very strong and commanding tone to the voice and identifying them as a detective. Since this phone number was listed by two others, I am leary this is another way to get personal information and will not call.

I got a call from a guy claiming to be a detective and said my mother who mind you is very ill had been implicated amongst others in a felony case said he'd give her 24 hrs. to call before casting a net and picking everyone up. I freaked out and come to find out it's a scam! I want to report to the real police for false identification as a public servant.

I receive a phone call from 312-912-7375 from a detective HOPKINS trying to scam me for $1600 off a fradulant check but I refuse to pay it. A week later a detective reeves call and I hang up on him also
