For those of you getting collection calls from Kaplan University - you can download the exact amount that Kaplan has been paid from the Federal Student Aid website - please reconcile that with your account records at Kaplan. Make sure that Kaplan gives you detailed records - charges per class, etc. Kaplan claimed that I owed them a considerable amount - when I compared Kaplan's records to my actual finding I was able to prove that they had been paid and the collection calls stopped. Most students do not do this and accept whatever they are told. Do not let them get away with this. There is an attorney working on a class action suit against them for this as we speak so the chances that you are being misled regarding your balance are great.
