Want to change your long distance service, scam

He offered HBO free for 4 months "and all I had to do was verify the 4 -digit PIN on my account". There is no PIN on my TV account-just my cell phone.

keeps calling at least 2-3 times a day caller ID is ATT Service Center,  but never leaves a message

The Caller ID said AT&T Svc Ctr.  Got one hang up last night about  8pm.  Been getting repeat calls from them from toll-free numbers and other numbers across the country.  I've been wanting to tell them to stop calling me, but I don't want to talk to them.

They've been calling me more since I changed plans.  Could be them or a phishing scam, but I don't want to pick up either way.

We've been getting daily calls from this number for a month or more. Never a message left.

My wife picked up a couple of times, most recently today, but nobody answers or responds - just a dead line and then the hangup dial tone. It's getting creepy. We currently use ATT for landline, not for cell.

Could this be some sort of system test? I'd think they'd tell folks what they were doing...and daily for this long to the same number is strange.
