The call was for a renewal for a free tech trade magazine.
Some additional info
These are call centers who are provided with a particular list from their client.
If you ask them to place you on the DNC list they can only do that for that particular list.
If they get another client and you are on that list they will call you again.
There was a day I got called 4 times from the same number with renewals for 4 different magazines.
Most of these are for trade publications and they have to verify if you still qualify for the free subscription.
