This number has called us a few times, there is never an answer when we pick up

Got a call from this number on my cell phone today and they hung up.

Called and hung up when I answered.

I think they are just fishing for active numbers to sell to telemarketers.

I didn't have my cell phone with me but when I checked it there was a missed call from this number.  No message was left. I tried to do a reverse phone lookup but of course you have to subscribe and pay a fee for that, but I was able to determine that this area code 312 is in downtown Chicago. I do not know anybody in Chicago so this probably is related to some type of scheme by telemarketers .  However, I do have my cell phone registered on the donotcall list and I would suggest everyone do the same, the website is www.donotcall.gov.
