We recently added a number to ring on our line, and this afternoon we received a call from this number on our new number. Since we are unacquainted with anyone in the (312) area code, and the Caller ID registered "Unknown Name," we did not answer the call. When we've received "Unknown Name" calls on new numbers we've added to our line over the past couple of years it has generally been a bill collector for someone who previously had the number. We get tired of telling people that that person no longer has the number.
