Got a call from this number around lunchtime.   Called the number back and got a recording "I'm sorry, the number you have reached is NOT in service... Please check the number and dial again".  what??

So I'll start a new thread about this number I suspect is another telemarketer

Same thing here, about half hour ago, same day as u

Just received another call from this number.  What happened to Do Not Call list.  How can the number be out of service.

Just got a call from this # on my cell, if it says the # is out of service it means only they can dial out but not receive a call. This I learned from my phone company after I called about annoying calls to my house and cell phone. It's a telemarketer...also if a company ISN'T registered with the National Do not call List, complaints cannot be submitted. That's why it doesn't fully work.

The number is fake (spoofed).  The DNC list is bogus.  The gubermint doesn't give a crap about you.  The list is a gubermint scam to shut you up and make you think they care.  Fooled you!

Get a good call blocker and do it yourself.  Panasonic makes a good phone system that can block up to 250 numbers.  I have one and I just love blocking these sleaze-bags.  I usually answer, but I put the phone on "mute" when I answer.  If it's a real person they will say something and you can take it off "mute" and talk to them, if it is a robocall you will be able to tell.
