Got a message from a place calling themselves SM Investigations trying to locate 2 former employees. Stated it was a part of an ongoing investigation. Man said his name was Mike Grant, and that the case had been assigned to him. Also said he had tried to contact them by mail and phone but there had been no reply. I stated that the last names mentioned were very common to this area, and that he should contact our HR department. He gave me his name and extension, but did not want to be transferred. Number was 310-986-6243, ext 65363. Not rude or domineering, but I have had several other calls sounding much like this who were later found to be collectors trying to obtain information using a scare tactic such as this.

You are uneducated.

M. Grant: You are slime.

i received a  voice mail from this Michael Grant today. Did not and will not return his call.. sound  very suspicious to me. how can i find out  the name of  this company?

D Dean, I don't know if your Michael Grant is the same Micheal Grant I received a voice message from today, or not, but the one that called me said he was calling from, 'SM Investigations'  and left a number, (916) 241-0925, to reach him at. I don't intend to call him back, but I did a reverse on the number and learned this is a cellular phone registered out of, Fair Oakes, CA, if this helps.
