I get these calls almost weekly, and finally had enough. I told the guy, "sure, come over", made an appointment. If I'm not home at the appointed time, no problem, I have locked gates and cameras to monitor the property. If I am home, I tell the guy I'm not interested and close the door. When the company calls back to follow up, I tell them I changed my mind. When they try to get another appointment, I go ahead and let them do it...and the cycle repeats itself. As frustrated as I get with these people, it feels good knowing I'm wasting their time and costing them money. If enough of us do it, maybe they'll stop, or even better, go out of business!  

I have a VOIP phone setup, so I can do all sorts of fun things with these a-holes.  This number is programmed to go to a 90-second recording of me playing a hard of hearing old man, who wastes their time a few different ways.  Looking at the call log, this fool talked to the recording the full 90 seconds before realizing he was had.  Easy to set up, and costs me nothing to mess with them.

These clowns are calling to sell you roof/wall insulation, new windows, new doors, new heating. new A/C and new solar electric. All of these have available green energy tax credits and rebates to help these salespeople sell them to you.
They usually work for 1 or more local contracting companies and are clearly part of the federal, state or local utility energy credits and rebates. These clowns spoof their numbers (change the caller ID), use Google voice numbers, or have disposable cell phones that use a local area code so you are more inclined to pick up. My Panasonic phone has 30 numbers available to block and its full so I purchased a call blocker on Amazon $39. The trolls don't leave messages and probably call multiple people at once so if you don't hear anything its because they have someone on the other line or hung up to talk to someone else. Thanks to this great website and all of your input i see the number look it up and when I see the notes like on here I block it.

got call on land land at 5:00 pm. Didn't answer. Always look here. number blocked. Clue it was a spoofed that the first six numbers of area codes in So. Cal. where I live.
