They called 5 times in 5 days. No message. I called back and it said Education Information Center. Who is this? What do they want??

Called several times with no message. I called back, got a recording stating "Education Information Center, press 1 to be put on do not call list".
I pressed 1, it said I have been placed on the do not call. I did a survey online several days ago concerning education, these two could be connected.

call several times per day leaving no message ....called the number myself and was told to dial 1 to be added to the do not call list .... did that ....I still wanna know who and why ....
