The caller is (male) claiming to be from the drug enforcement and stated that someone was using my credit card information to purchase drugs from overseas. They wanted $3,800 dollars to put me in some kind of security program to protect my identity. This guy called me 2 times earlier this week and I accidently gave my card information with out thinking. I later thought about it and called my credit card company and reported that my card was lost. Since I did that they immediately cancelled that card information and issued me a new one. This same guy called me again and was rude to me especially when I started questioning him. He later started calling me a few other nasty names and comments! I hope that him and his crew gets caught and punished to the fullest of the law. THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!  People if you get any calls from this number, don't give in to these thugs!

Thank you for posting!  This same guy called my 80+ year old mother.  When I called the number back, he sounded a little too unprofessional to be the DEA and when I pointed that out, he told me he was sending someone out to arrest me.

DEA Warns Public of Extortion Scam by DEA Special Agent Impersonators

The Drug Enforcement Administration is warning the public about criminals posing as DEA special agents or other law enforcement personnel as part of an international extortion scheme.

The criminals call the victims (who in most cases previously purchased drugs over the internet or by telephone) and identify themselves as DEA agents or law enforcement officials from other agencies. The impersonators inform their victims that purchasing drugs over the internet or by telephone is illegal, and that enforcement action will be taken against them unless they pay a fine. In most cases, the impersonators instruct their victims to pay the "fine" via wire transfer to a designated location, usually overseas. If victims refuse to send money, the impersonators often threaten to arrest them or search their property. Some victims who purchased their drugs using a credit card also reported fraudulent use of their credit cards.

Impersonating a federal agent is a violation of federal law. The public should be aware that no DEA agent will ever contact members of the public by telephone to demand money or any other form of payment.

The DEA reminds the public to use caution when purchasing controlled substance pharmaceuticals by telephone or through the Internet. It is illegal to purchase controlled substance pharmaceuticals online or by telephone unless very stringent requirements are met. And, all pharmacies that dispense controlled substance pharmaceuticals by means of the internet must be registered with DEA. By ordering any pharmaceutical medications online or by telephone from unknown entities, members of the public risk receiving unsafe, counterfeit, and/or ineffective drugs from criminals who operate outside the law. In addition, personal and financial information could be compromised.

Anyone receiving a telephone call from a person purporting to be a DEA special agent or other law enforcement official seeking money should refuse the demand and report the threat using the online form below. Please include all fields, including, most importantly, a call back number so that a DEA investigator can contact you for additional information. I received the same call, however, because I was willing to cooperate, he was nice.  I took all the information down, pretending that I was going to go to money mart, I told him I had to go to the bank first.  I took all the information and instead of going to the bank, I headed to the police station.  There I was adviced that this is a scam.  The Officer gave me his card and if this guy called back, for him to call to call this Officer.  I felt better, however, after a while, this guy called back.  I didnt answer and by the 3rd call, he left a message that shortly someone was coming to my house to arrest me.  I was still scared, locked my house, turned lights off and stayed in my bedroom.  So far he has not called again and today I'm ready for his calls, cause now I'm MAD!

just called me- same as above-pretending to be drug enforcement agency- told me that i couldn't tell anyone about it- when i laughed he said they would be here to arrest me in 10 minutes-
