Caller from this number claims to be a representative of Microsoft Windows. Says that Microsoft has been receiving multiple error messages from the computers that will slow the computer and cause crashes.

Caller then asks how many computers are in the house, asks for respondant to go to desktop and look for errors. Told caller that the power was out at the house and to call back later. When power returned, called back number on land line, it rang a couple of times, and then it hung up.

Looked up this sort of activity after the call and found out it is most likely a phishing scam. See link: http://www.computerworld.com.au/article/31429 ... remains_active/

My sister was contacted by this number. I'll post what they said here:
A guy from 1305-760-4136 just called our house. He said he was from Microsoft and that he could clearly see that our computer was d-loading viruses long story short he asked me for my husbands SSN, my C.C. # and our IP addy. I asked him  "Shouldn't you already have the IP address if you can see all of this?" Then he asked "Do you have lap tops or a desk top?" Again, I asked him "Shouldn't you already know that?" Again stammering and then no reply. I hung up.

She posted this on Facebook. It's a Florida number, but that's about all I could pull up. Be careful!
