My elderly Mother received a telephone call today from 305-665-2656.  They advised her that she owed Chevron Credit Card $28,000.00 and wanted to know when she would be paying her bill.  She stated that she did not owe Chevron $28,000.00 and they promptly hung up.  She tried to call them back but no one answered the phone.  We tried to track the number shown on her Caller ID but found that the number is unpublished.

Also called Chevron Credit Card to verify the call.  Chevron stated that the call did not come from Chevron.

What is the purpose of such calls?

this number just called registered Unknown name  305-665-2656.

I do not answer unknown names if I do not know the number. I am on the do not call list but have given up as the Feds can not seem to stop any of them calling.

I recieved a call from this number & it came up "unknown caller" so we did not answer this call.They left a message on my answering machine that said they could lower my credit card interest rates and I should press 1. I did not call them back!!!!
