My call was from 917-310-3665 from a "David Corez" with the Drug Enforcement Agency, claiming he was doing an investigation for a package confiscated from customs with my name and address on it--although he could not tell me my address. I'll admit I bought diet pills off the internet FIVE YEARS AGO and these people have harrassed me ever since to buy more for hundreds of dollars. Just crazy, so I never bought again. So, when "David" accused me of having purchased a package of diet pills he confiscated, I knew he had to be lying, but it was so scary just the same! I have never been in trouble with law enforcement for anything! I was so glad to find this thread, even though I knew the guy had to be lying. When I told him, no, he was lying, I hadn't bought anything, he interupted me yelling at me "Yes you did! And if that is your answer I will be calling your local authorities for a warrant for your arrest!" and then hung up on me. I have taken criminal justice classes for three semesters at school now, and I know that is not how things work, but it was scary all the same!
Thank you so much for the information. Just wanted to add this name and number to the list of phony DEA calls so someone else can feel better if they get a call from this jerk! He keeps calling and calling and leaving messages, but I will never pick up again, unless it is to say I turned him in to the FDA and DEA for impersonating an officer!
